My name is Carlo, and my wife is Dorinne, and we live in the northeastern USA. We are thinking about spending 1-2 months in Italy, hopefully sometime between February and May, 2011. I have been reading about Scalea, and it sounds interesting.

My family is in Monte San Biagio, near Terracina, and I speak a very small bit of italian. What we want is a small town, near the sea, on a train line, in southern Italy. From the web, Scalea looks good. A small, clean, and very inexpensive studio or 1 bedroom apartment would be ideal. If anyone knows how to find such a place, please let me know.

I live in Scalea and yes it is a lovely place. I live in Il Faro and have a lovely 2 bed apartment with a big balcony and lovely views. I would be interested in renting my apartment out.
