Default Parco Meridiano

Hi to all residents of the above.

Does anyone have any news on developments there? Has anyone had any further demands for money off Pino or had ICI or other bills?

Joyce and I wish everyone on the forum a happy and healthy New year and hope to see as many of you as possible next year.

Ciao

John

Happy New Year John & Joyce - and everyone else 8-))

I know all comunes differ but does Scalea send out ICI bills automatically?
I know Belvedere doesn't but I think someone has previously mentioned that Scalea does?
Or am I mistaken?

Default ICI Scalea

Happy New Year to all.
Our ICI bill (Scalea) was sent out by post to our Italian mailing address so I assume that will be the same for all in Scalea unless anyone knows any different.
Just for the record it is minus 4 degrees here in the UK at the moment - very pretty with all the frost!!! Can't wait to get back to Scalea in February.
Would love to meet up with anyone who is around in February.

Hi hallphoto

What is the progress on site? Car park finshed yet, gardens neat and tidy, Russian villas, pool empty or just green? I gather from your news that we are not on mains electric yet. Were there any other residents Brits, Italians or Russians?

Ciao

John

Default site progress

Hi just got back yesterday, the other 2 residents were brits (hi again what a good evening on news years day) the other, the permanant italian resident, no the car park is not finished, yes the weeds are cut back, the pool is full of green water (slightly lighter after the rain) and my switches are still not covered, the 2 semi houses are coming on nicely.
Pino said we will be on our own mains in March, but we have had promises before, we think he is finishing the 2 houses off in the next few weeks this will then inject some cash into the project to finish of the last few jobs,
We will be sending a update to nick our solicitor so he is aware the site is not finished a promised in our contracts, We don't think there is anything we can do but he will be aware, we don't mind paying a small amount for water or electric to Pino but as for site management there has been none.
We had a great week out there (apart from the electric triping at the start) its a great location and will look really good when it is finished, and the apartments are finished to a high standard.
We think pino thought we would all sign our contracts give him the cash and not use them until it was all finished, he has been surprised how often us brits have been out there even in the winter, but he doesnt realise that us brits would get any bit of Italy and the sun when we can, if he undrerstood this then he would have sold a lot more

Hello all You Meridiano residents,
I'm looking for a small favour from anyone who is on holiday in the next couple of months. I have an apartment in the Covit Residence which is more or less in the same part of Scalea as Meridiano---At the top of Via Faro continue straight on past the Il Faro and Bussola signs. At about 200 metres beyond these signs, turn right and there facing you are the Covit Apartments----a small complex comprising 4 buildings. The complex is approximately 10 years old and the buildings are due to be painted externally starting this month. I am just interested to know if there are any signs of the work starting---Scaffolding etc. This work was due to be done in 2008 but was postponed until early 2009 but ,who knows, it may be postponed again. I would be pleased to have any information one way or the other about this. I don't want to book any flights until the work is well under way.
All the Best for 2009,
Billy.

Sorry Billy

I won't be out there until April. And so I cannot help. Perhaps some kind forum member can put your mind at rest.

To the rest of the residents of Parco Meridian.

Is there goimg to be an official handover of the site? (When it is finally complete!!!!) Will a representative for the owners produce a snagging list? How does it work over there?

Ciao

John

Hi Billy

We will be going over the Meridiano in February, if we can find your place, we will check it out for you.

Hi all other Meridiano residents.

Is there anybody been over there since October who can tell me if the outside has been painted yet, it was supposed to before the handover. The condo fees will be set in March, so I assume the handover will be then! There were other incompleted jobs in September when we were last over there. intercom, pedestrian gate keys, main parking, and external landing lights, these are some of the things I wiil attempt to find out next month. Probably get the response "Dopo Domani"

Steve

Hello Steve,
The Covit Apartments are only about a 5 minute walk from Meridiano. Just make your way to the bottom of Viale Caravaggio, turn left to the top of Via Faro and turn left again. After about 200 metres the apartments are over to the right.
Thanks,
Billy.

Default Covit Apartments

Hi Billy

Just got back from Scalea this week, rained a couple of days, but the other side of the coin is that temperatures reached 24 deg for two days.

Checked out Covit Apartments for you, took some pictures, but something went wrong with the memory card, and we lost them. The apartments by the look of it are in the process of being painted. About a third of them are painted, a couple had scaffolding and about half the complex to do. As you walk into the main square, the apartments on the left are not yet done. The one on the right are either completed or in process.

Hope this helps

Steve

Hi Heather and Steve

I was confidence that a forum member would give Billy some feedback.

How was the complex? Where ther any other residents there during your stay? Has there been any progress during the winter?

Ciao

John

Hello Steve,
Thanks for the info regarding the painting of the Covit Apartments. Just as you begin to go through to the Square I am in the building immediately on the Right, so it looks as if the painting has begun or may be completed. I wont be in Scalea until the latter part of April so I guess the painting will be finished by then.
Thanks very much for taking the time to find out for me,
Regards, Billy.

Wink Parco Meridiana

Hi John

The only other resident was the "resident italian" in the one bedroom apartment below you.

As far as the complex, the only work being carried out was to the two semi detached villas, the rest was how it was left in September apart from a little bit of weeding, and a couple of palm trees in the pool area, one just been shoved in a hole they made in the floor tiling. Although to be fair, it needs finishing off, which probably will be doing sometime!!!

Had a nose round the villas, they are massive inside, with balcony's front and rear. If you imagine your balcony, that has been squared off to make a larger one

The main car park still not done. Had a chat with Tony, he reckons if more residents are out there Easter time maybe an idea to get together, and tell Pino what we expect!!!

Pools still a nice shade of green. Apart from all that it was great to be back out there.

See you soon, we are back out there April 8th 'til 14th

Steve

Hi Heather and Steve

I am sure he is trying to get the colour of the pool to match that of the blinds.

In bocca del lupo
