Default Ryanair Lamezia Stansted December Flights Return

For anyone looking to escape to Italy next month....

I've just noticed that Ryanair have brought back Stansted - Lamezia flights in December and January (lots of the flights are free - you pay taxes only)

It looks like they are Tuesday and Saturdays only.

Regards, Lesley

Smile Ryanair Lamezia Flights.

I wish I had seen that on Saturday before we booked to fly into Rome Lesley, or has it just come up (to be perfectly honest I never even checked Lamezia because I just assumed they weren't flying!! I have just had to pay £80 to change the flights and I am stuck with the more expensive return flight of £49.99 instead of £14.99 as they will not allow you to pay less than your original booking!!

Never mind worth it for the convenience.

We will now be arriving Tue 30th Dec and departing Sat 3rd Jan. Just a quickie this time in time for Hogmannay

Speak to you soon and hope to catch up with anyone else out there at that time.

Val & Mark

Thumbs up Re Ryanair flights

We too were pleasantly surprised to discover that these flights (Tues /Sat ) are back on and we were able to book February half term via Lamezia and not Naples, which would have been dearer

Yes the flights have just come back on and they seem to be bookable from 6th December through until June 2009.

Default Car hire for evening arrivals

Does anyone know which car hire company's offices are likely to be open on Saturday evenings at Lamezia? The flight arrival time is 21.00 hours. By the time you get through passport control, even without luggage - it is likely to be 21.30

I'm trying to get booked but there are lots of clauses in the small print about extra charges for out of office hours but no indication as to how much these will be, so I am a bit nervous about booking.

I seem to recall that I used Hertz quite late once - may not have been Lamezia though, but of course, their quotes are the most expensive!

Regards to all, Jax. xx

Hi,
I can't tell you who's open late at Lamezia but Ryanair use Hertz and offer special discounted rates for their customers. You can check out their prices for your flight at this link:

Ryanair.com - Cheap Car Hire

However, their quote is for basic car hire and you are offered the "add-on" options for excess, upgrades, etc., when you go to the Hertz desk at Lamezia. This bumps up the price and makes it expensive so we always use Insurance4carhire to pay for the excess in advance - it's very inexpensive (less than £50.00 for a year's cover for Europe) and you can use it as many times as you like throughout the year (very convenient for frequent travellers!)

You can check out their website at this link:

Car Hire Excess Insurance | Car Rental Excess Insurance

If you decide to go with this option, you will need to be very sure you make a point of letting them know at the Lamezia desk that you are already covered for excess, or you might find yourself signing for it again when you're there and then getting charge for it on your credit card. (This happened to us the first time by mistake, so we made very sure we didn't sign for it the next time - once bitten, twice shy!) Booking the car hire with Ryanair and then paying for the excess through Insurance4carhire is a very expedient way of doing it, though.

There are lots of other discussions on car hire on this forum and there is sure to be someone who knows more about "out of hours" charges. I would have thought that the price you pay with Ryanair should cover them as the car hire is automatically linked to the flights but it pays to be sure.

If anyone knows more about this, I'm sure all of us who visit this forum would like to have your input.

Let us know how it turns out, anyway.

Ciao,

Frances.

Anyone know what the weather can be like in the Feb half term? How cold and how warm has anyone experienced it?
