Question Scooters

Does anyone know what the regulations are for buying a scooter in Italy? Do you have to be a resident? Also how often do you have to get an MOT? Is it every year or every second year?

We are hoping to buy a second hand scooter just to use when we visit and wondered if there is a place in Scalea which sells them. We are only looking for a cheap runner.

We are in the same situation, have only seen one vespa for sale and that was about 2200 euros so not cheap, apparantly there is a shop in Palao, will try and find the website for you, think you need to get a friend to ensure your scooter in italy as you can only do this as a permanant resident.

Thumbs up Scooters

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at the shop opposite the bank. They have some great scooters but not cheap. We are just looking for a cheap runaround.

I wondered if we can insure it in Britain although we are using it abroad. Also is it a 2 year MOT in Italy?
