Lidos at the Beach

Would anyone know if the lidos are still open on the beaches in Scalea and San Nicola? Some friends will be in the area next week and wanted to go to the beach. I was not sure if the could still rent the sun beds or if they should bring their own chairs.

Hi there,
As far as I can remember, in Scalea anyway, they pack up all the beds and umbrellas on the 14th September every year so if your friends are going to be there after that they will be able to bring their own.

Hi I came back from Scalea on Monday and I still have family over there and they tell me the beds and umbrellas are still on the beach today. Annette

We were out in Scalea for the last 2 weeks of September last year and although the majority of the lidos were closed some of them kept a few chairs/beds out. The hotel Taleo is usually still open and you can buy daily or weekly tickets to use their pool and lido.

The Festa in San Nicola has just taken place and, by all accounts, most stuff closes down after the Festa.
The lido at the bottom of our road tends to close this coming weekend (which apparently coincides with the kids going back to school).
There is the Jazz Festival coming up if your friends are interested in Jazz?
