Pollino National Park

Hi

Just bought a small apartment in San Nicola.

Would like to find detailed maps and walks in the Pollino National Park and surrounding area`s.Haven`t found much detailed stuff as yet but will continue to dig.

Anyone know of any coastal walks between San Nicola and Scalea or nearby.

Where are the best places [ bookshops, websites, tourist offices ] to get this information?

Must admit found this forum to be very useful and I would be gratefull for any suggestions.

Recently purchased in San Nicola Arcella and would eventually like to explore the Pollino National Park.

Will be visiting early August can anyone suggest the best places to obtain walking information, maps etc in the area.

I found some online maps a while ago but have saved them "in a safe place" and can't find them just now but will have another look when I get a moment.
Here's a link to a coastal walk on the "old SS18".
Sounds interesting, although it is in Italian, let me know if you'd like help with a translation (or maybe you could try Google translate?)

They did have some basic maps and info at the tourist office in Via J F Kennedy. We have been in several times for maps & things and the girl we dealt with spoke some English and was very helpful.

Hi - we gathered a mixture of maps from the bookshops but were really looking for something like our Ordnance Survey with a bit more detail. The only ones we found were military maps (!) from Maps-Store is the first traveller's reference. That's the site for Rivenditore Autoprizzato Carte IGMI They're incredibly detailed but difficult to read (not much colour) but if you're into walking I'd think you'd find them OK - they show contours really well. Would have thought there were plenty other maps for Pollino though. Cheers.
