Giro D'Italia - what a difference

Well thanks to the Giro D'Italia there has been a flurry of activity and the amount of road resurfacing that has happened (and white-line painting!!) has to be seen to be believed.

In Scalea the other day we saw one person strimming and another following him with a broom sweeping up - unbelieveable 8-))

If anyone has the capability to record any of the Giro that passes through "our" bit onto dvd I would love a copy of it.

It is starting off at Belvedere at 11am onto the SS18 and then heading off the main road through Diamante and Cirella and then heading for Santa Maria via the back roads.
Then returning to the SS18 to pass through Scalea and on towards Lagonegro on the 585.

I'm quite sure it will be really spectacular and we are hoping to get a decent view from the main road at the bottom of our hill inbetween Belvedere and Diamante but we have no idea just how busy it might be.

If I get any photos I'll try to post them here.

It sounds great, ive been recording all the highlights for steve ,as he is in canada throughout the summer! We really wanted to come down and watch for ourselves but hey.....never mind.
I will be recording it on to a hdd recorder and when steve gets back he will be transfering them to dvd, cos im not that switched on to do that one!!!

Why isn't there a webcam in Scalea? What about a wifi hotspot too. Praia has a few.

Hotel Santa Caterina in Scalea has a wi-fi hotspot (or it did back in 2005 when we first started coming over!)
