Hi Kevin and Jayne

I hope that your trip to Italy went well.

Any chance of you updating us on the progress of work on site? My daughter, son in law and our four year old grandson are due out there in three weeks and they were wondering about the status of the pool and the general landscaping?

We are not due out until late July and are hoping everything will be in situ by then.

Any photographs would be appreciated.

Ciao

Hi Residents of the above.

I've just been sent some photos of the completed pool. Everything looks good. I just can't wait to get out there.

Ciao

hi we had a great trip everything is looking great and are counting down the days to our next trip, they were just finishing off the pool it now has water in. It took 5 days to fill and was full at 6.30 am when we left to fly home and the main car park was about to be started, the guys have done a great job and we are really pleased with our purchase, the quality of finish and fittings is top notch. Here is the last pic we took of the pool full !! plus a couple of others from the day before

Hi Kevin and Jayne

Thanks for the photographs.

When are you next due out there? We won't be there until late July.

Do you know if any more apartments have been sold since Easter?

Thanks

John and Joyce.

Next visit is not until september, its a bit busy with work until then, when we are out over the May bank holiday there were a few visits from italian agents and a few people driving by to look at the developement, we got the impression that there are no 1 beds left only 2 beds.

I've heard that there are still 50+ apartments for sale in the development of which 10 are 1Beds.
Meaning that 23 plus apartments should have been sold so far.

Does anybody know if the builder will be supplying Sun lounchers around the pool or if we need to buy or own?

Smile sun loungers

Hi to all

We also have apartment at Parco Meridiana on our last visit there end May I think it was David or Tony sorry can't remember, that Pino was only going to allow wooden type sun loungers that we would have to buy from him on a one off payment. Whoever told us sorry David and Tony if it wasn't you that Pino wanted the complex to "look the part" and not have different types of brollies sun loungers etc. Does anyone know anything?

The pool is great - is the Jaccuzi working now as when we were there it wouldn't turn itself off.

Hello to everyone we have met in Scalea - we are next out there end July can't wait, hope to meet you there sometime. I think Alison said you have the upstairs apartment from them

It was me about the wooden sun loungers, however he was not sure about what to do and I think it could go either way. It would be interesting to think what people thought was the best option, that way I can tell Pino that we had a mini-vote and that most people want ????.

Sorry to talk shop but I know that the builder is giving discounts on the 2 bed properties on Meridiana before August.

Ok enough about work!

Default sun loungers vote

My preference would be for the builder to supply the sun loungers and charge them back through the yearly maintenance. That way any broken ones could be easily replaced, there would be no need to lock them up in the apartment when you're not there and all loungers will look the same and in shape.

Does anybody have any idea of when the partitions between the terraces and balconies will be fitted?

Another suggestion would be to have a rental company managing the place as each time I visited, it felt as the complex was very quit.

Hi All

Just for information they started fitting the partitions between the balconies last week.

On the subject of sun loungers. If it was to a communal item how many would you need? Two per bedroom would result in approximately 240. If people put up guests on divans extra would be required. Should every person be entitled to a communal lounger? If we provide less it could end up with the German syndrome of people booking places at 06.00 or earlier.

I thought about it but it doesn't add up. There isn't sufficient space around the pool.

I know some people including ourselves have already bought loungers as a temporary measure until a site residents meeting is convened. With only about twenty apartments sold, it is going to be a while before this problem arises. Communal aerials and or satellite dishes and parking bays will be other issues.

Ciao

John

Even though this is nothing to do with me, can I make a few suggestions?

I stayed at a beautiful small complex of about 28 apartments. They (the committee) supplied approx 20 stacking sun beds for whoever to use. In the summer they were left near the pool, next to a wall. There were signs stating you must return your sunbed to the stack after use, which everyone did. Some people supplied their own and stored them at their flat - mostly those who had apartments on the ground floor - obviously. Out of the 28 apartments I only ever saw in total 10 people around the pool, even in peak season.

Parasols/umbrellas were supplied too - with bases, to help yourself with. The parsol part was kept in the large communal toilets area (next to the pool). There was also about 6 large heavy ones placed around the pool for people to bagsy.

There was ample shade and sunbeds for everyone.

Not sure how big your complex is but you could do the maths proportionally and take it from there.

Hope this gives you ideas.

Hi all

I tried to upload a picture of the first partition but it was too big.

I will try to put it on the photo gallery.

Default Sun Loungers Meridiana

I am in total agreement with John and Mrs Teapot, there should be a restriction on the amount of communal sun loungers. I definitely don't want to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning, although it could be fun to chuck my towel from the balcony onto the lounger- German Style! Although at this stage I cannot see an almighty rush to claim a sun lounger. Out of all the apartments on the complex, I don't think there will be more than 25 in use at any one time, the only time this may change is during the Italian Holiday period during August, and only then if more Italians buy on the complex. If it happens there are not enough sun loungers, then we cross that bridge if it happens or use our own. So my vote would be for Pino to purchase up to 40 loungers, which should be enough for 20 apartments, and charge them on the condominium fee, any that need replacing can be charged on the following years fee.

Default sunloungers

Hi Dave

Uniform poolside furniture would be better and the idea of Pino supplying and adding a sensible amount to the annual charges seems a good solution. Too much furmniture round the pool would spoil it so 30-35 and 10 parasols would probably be enough.
