Does anywhere deliver washing machines? / man with van

Hi all


We are in scalea for a week from May 14th, we need to buy a washing machine for our apartment in the historical centre of Maiera. does anyone know if shops will deliver to Centro Historico's, what with all the steps and narrow streets, or does anyone know a 'man with van' I could rent for a couple of hours?

Hi,

Euronics delivered our fridge freezer to our house in Centro Storico, it is quite normal for them we were told as most of the deliveries are to apartment blocks without lifts. I am sure that they will deliver a washing machine, we have also had furniture delivered from Cinema and they also do washing machines.

Euronics (above the Spar) and Expert (obliquely across the road from Bar La Playa) seem to be quite happy to organise delivery (they seem to have contacts with "a man with a van" and ring him when you are purchasing to arrange a time.
Often it will be "is this afternoon ok?" - unlike the UK where you might need to wait until a scheduled delivery to your particular area.
We have always found delivery of white goods amazingly straightforward and quick here.

We bought a washing machine from Euronics (above the Spa) and they delivered and fitted it the same afternoon. No problems.

Hi, if you go out of the back exit from Spar and turn left on to Via Lauro then one of the first shops on the left sells white goods and will deliver and fit it for you. Sorry can't remember the name.

Yes. We used those people on via Lauro. They were excellent. We bought a slim-line one and it was cheaper than Euronics. Even though we bought it in october before our renovations were finished, they came back in march and fitted it. they also took away the old one which was a plus.

Hi just a quick thank you to truffles and lynn - we followed your advice and went to the shop round the back of spar - still don't know the name. The service was excellent we brought the machine at 4.30,which as you say was cheaper than Spar, and he delivered and fitted it three hours later.!! Don't think you would get that service from Currys?
