Hi all

I've just glanced at some of the information in the 1st newsletter. What a splendid effort. My congratulations to everyone involved. I loved the poem.

We noted that the Giro is to hit town. We are both keen cyclists and have seen several stages of the Tour de France in the Alps and in Brittany. My wife is now on the case. I don't think she'll rest until she has explored all the options so that we can watch the Giro pass through Scalea or even better the climb up to Lagonero.

As regards to the Marina at Scalea. At Easter I saw a computer graphic showing the new Marina area and it seemed to show the sea partially surrounding the Torre Talao. How far in will the Marina come?

Such a nice job David, Lesley et al. It just makes me want to be there sooo badly with Monica and Derek! The poem fits here too as you can imagine.

Forum folks, please ask Brown and Berlusconi to demand from our boss, GW Bush, to let Di and Doug retire early without pension deductions so we can go to Santa Domenica sooner and help the community in some way. I would gladly collect firewood with a mule and distribute to aging citizens.

A big "well done" goes to all those who put together the newsletter - it has all the right ingredients. In fact, I'm very pleased we're leaving for Calabria next week, or I'd be feeling far too nostalgic for my own good! What a great way to "get in the mood"!
Note to self: Must start packing the cases tomorrow. Can't wait!

Hats off to all those concerned with that newsletter, a perfect mix of different topics and I'm sure as this builds it can get even better.

We welcome any suggestions for the newsletter. In the next one we will add a weather report amongst other things.

Incidentally I have been keeping a weather station in my garden (at sea level near Marcellina) since march and I can tell you that:

March 2008 rainfall = 90mm (a very wet and cold month)
April 2008 rainfall = 15mm (a very dry but overcast month)

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any ideas.
