Naples airport to Train station

Hi,
Heading to Scalea in March and was wondering does anyone know how easy is it to get from Naples airport to the train station. Intending on getting a taxi and was wondering how much time to allow? Any advice would be much appreciated.

We will be flying from Dublin to Naples on Mon March 31st and then taking
the train on to Scalea though thats to late to be able to let you know how
we get on. On a map of Naples we have the airport looks quite close to the station
so I'm hoping it will be easier than Rome-Scalea If you're home again before
Mar 31st maybe you will let us know how you get on.

Hi Niamh and Colman

Here are some web sites and a little information about the transfers from the airport to the station.

Friends tell us that it is a very easy and a short short journey of less than 7 km. The buses run every 15 mins.

Road: Bus: ANM buses run to Napoli Centrale railway station, arriving at the port of Naples (Piazza Municipio). Alibus shuttle buses also run to Napoli Centrale railway station and then to Piazza Municipio in the centre of Naples.
Taxi: Taxis are available from outside the Arrivals area.

Hi Niamh,I wouldnt bother with the taxi.As you come out of the airport you will see the bus stop to your right its a little orange bus pay as you get on a few euro, and takes about 15 to 20 mins to get to the station.You can check your train tmes on line.Its far better to hang around and sip coffee for a while to catch a fast train the regional is cheap slow over 3 hours and a bit dirty,but only about €11 for one ticket.If you decide to take that train remember to buy some goodies at the shop no food service on that train.For train tickets www.treintitalia.it.xx Fifi

Thanks John and Fifi for the info. I know what you mean about not bothering with the taxi and just take the bus except we are travelling with parents (elderly) so want to make it as comfy as possible for them. Doesn't sound like it's far either anyway so we should be fine.

Hi Niamh,

We took a taxi from the airport to the station as our plane had been late arriving and we did not have a lot of time to catch the last train.

The taxi driver origianally asked for 20 euros but when we went to walk away he said it would only be 15 euros.

He tried to talk us into letting him drive us to Scalea but decided that would be too expensive!

The journey was eventful as it was the rush hour. I just closed my eyes and was glad when we finally arrived at the station. The journey took about 10 minutes and that was at the busiest time.
