Default Gas Heating

Ciao,
Would anybody have any idea how much it would cost to have gas central heating installed. We are in Maiera. I know there are gas pipes near our apartment. Has anybody else got gas heating?

Tante Grazie,
Michael & Elie

Ciao,

We have central heating. The cost was €6000 for 5 radiators and a combi boiler.

A smaller place would need less radiators and a smaller boiler so would be less.

Regards, David

Thanks David. I might think about getting the gas in if the price is right.

See you at Easter.

We are currently investigating central heating options (have been doing so for ages in fact but I just get confused by all the options....and I also dither terribly).
You are very fortunate that you would be on "town gas" as our options are for LPG because we are in a rural location and the cost of LPG is much higher than town gas.
The pipework is all in place already here for our radiators etc and we were quoted around 3000 euros for the boiler and radiators (8 in total) in 2006.
I suspect in an older centro storico property the installation of the pipework would be labour intensive so relatively expensive?
Anyway if you do get some quotes I'm sure we would all be interested to hear how you get on.
Best wishes, Lesley

Lesley, I think it is your or a relatives appartment I have seen in Centro Storico Scalea, I think it has been beautifully renovated and was wondering if you could give me some advice on costs and where you got the kitchen as it would suit my appartment, kind regards claire x

Nope Claire it wasn't my daughters place you have seen, we didn't put a new kitchen in her place. Do you recall whereabouts in Centro Storico it was as I may know who it belongs to?
Not sure if it is still available or has been snapped up but Rita & Peter posted a nearly new kitchen for sale recently.
Here's a link:
