Try www.italybus.it The times given are Naples 10.00 arrives Scalea 13.10 and Naples 14.30 arrives Scalea 17.40. There is a warning that they're in the process of re-doing the timetables but as it's possible to buy a ticket online presumably it would say the new times if any when you book. They leave from outside the station in Naples.
I have just come back from Scalea and over the last 4 years we have been visiting the train is always the best option from anywhere to anywhere.
If I remember right, the fare Naples to Scalea is a mere €10 each way and for one or two extra Euros you can go first class. These fares have just been hiked up in the budget but only by about 3%.

Yes I agree fully about the train being the best option anytime. The Naples to Scalea run is roughly 3 hours depending on which train you get. We have done it a few times but now we tend to fly from Liverpool to Rome but again normally donw by train in 4.5 hrs.
The hotels around the stations are ok ish but not the best area to be around at night to be honest.
We took the train to Napoli Centrale and then the bus outside to the Airport in Dec 07. Good trip and info readily available about the bus(es) from informazione in the station. However there are 2 buses and the more expensive pullman comes more frequently - journey time circa 20 mns. 2 buses; 2 stops; 2 prices ... as they advise, outside is it MacDonalds? but one further up the street than the other.
By the way we rented this time with Avis and got a great deal for the 7 days inclusive. With the annual insurance for excess cover of about £47 it is starting to work out quite well for frequent trips. Somebody asked about a hotel? We stayed at Hotel San Pietro in Naples, a little sidestreet near Garibaldi Sq. Not very easy to find by car with all the one way system but worthy of its 3 stars, fair breakfast, all for E45, which included a car parking space in front. This could be difficult to guarantee however in the high season I expect as even on Sunday morning we had fun as the market traders who set up quite early outside the balconly (yes, balcon!) were singing by 6am. I thought at first that the rubbish collectors strike was over but no such look.
Despite all of this we found Naples and its people really warm, helpful and friendly and had a good sampling of their help as we got lost several times, went the wrong way down one-way-streets (is this site censored?) and a few other digressions that I will not regale you with now.
Please revert if you want any further info on trains/hotels/car hire from Scalea to Naples
the orange bus outside the airport is about €3 takes you to station. If travelling from mid week you should be able to catch the fast train at 1135, this should have you down to Praia in about 1hr 50 then change to regional about 15 min wait then arrive in Scalea in 30mins.Its about €33 for 1 lots more comfort.Or there is the icplus no change direct and also comfi. But remember to book on line very hard to get the tickets you want in Summer.Ihave lots of names for hotels in Napoli. On arrival back we have to catch the early flight to Dublin so we stay the night.I book on line with venere.com they give you a map of the area, so you can pick your hotel beside the train station. Its cheap clean,I have even done this on my own and no problem.Dont pay the hotel by credit card cash I have had a problem with this cash is best.X Fifi
