Peperoncino Festival - Hot Chilli Pepper Eating Competition

Another speciality of Diamante (and part of the Chili Pepper Festival which is held every September) is the Chilli Eating Competition.
The champions usually manage to eat more than 500 grammes of pure hot chillies and it is quite a spectator sports- take a look at this video from 2006, the female competitor looks like she has steam coming out of her ears!
