Default Weather

Really warming up now here.
Past two days have been up as high as 41.9 degrees according to my thermometer and we have needed a fan on through the night.

No doubt anyone who was over a few weeks ago when we had lots of rain will be less than pleased to hear this!

Regards,
Lesley & Brian

I cannot believe the weather either, this is so hot for June.

Me and Gabriella have spent the last couple of days in front of the air con, and only venture out when the sun goes down, even then it is still hot.

Is it bad to wish for a thunderstorm

Love Mel

Nope! I'd say it's not bad to wish for a thunderstorm 8-))
A good thunderstorm usually clears the air and they never last long in these parts either, do they?
And a short sharp storm is different from ongoing rain for days on end (which is what I believe has been happening in the north of England - and maybe elsewhere - but I have only had reports from friends and family in the north. I also gather from the news on the tv tonight that there has been severe flooding in the Uk.)
I have to admit I was relieved to see it was a little overcast first thing this morning here but the heat has still built up anyway (28 degrees outside now and its almost half past midnight).
I remember the end of June last year was also particularly warm so maybe if anyone is already making plans for next year they should bear that in mind?

Hello To All,
Talking about thunderstorms, we've just had one. The weather in Scotland at the moment is awful--So much for mid-summer's day---the rain is bouncing off the roads at the moment. I'm pleased I've managed two separate fortnights in Scalea already this year because the weather at home is murder to say the least. I probably wont manage back to Italy until Settembre. By the way Lesley and Brian, Sheila,Gordon and myself thoroughly enjoyed the company and the meal[and the wine] at the Trattoria up the Hills near Grisolia---a great night was had by all. I just hope Tony continues with these outings in the future. It was a great way to spend a Saturday night especially for me as I was able to leave the car at the apartment.
Hope the good weather continues for all you lucky people in Italy, Cheerio for now, Billy.

Hi Sue! (and Steve)

Still very warm and sunny here (31 degrees at 9am so looks like another scorcher).

We had a wonderful trip out yesterday so will write up a bit about it when I get a minute (think we saw some of the places you visited earlier!)

TTFN, good to see you on here 8-))

(private messaging isnt working properly so although I can see you have sent me a message I can't retrieve it-could you email me on mail@brianandlesley.com please?
Very best wishes, Lesley & Brian

Hi Fifi,
All I can say is that even the Italians are feeling the effects of the heat.
Reports that there was a high of 48 degrees on Monday (I can quite believe it!)

Thankfully as we have balconies to three sides we can usually find shade as well as sun but it is now midnight and is 31 degrees both outside and in and I am expecting it will stay that temperature all night.

Would rather be warm than in the floods in England that has made headline news here this week though

TTFN Lesley

Hi Lesley well the south of Italy made it onto our air waves today a woman living in the south of Italy phoned the national radio station to speak abought the temp.and here in ireland its quite cold still needing a bit of heat at night.Shouldnt complain to much it seems England is getting it very bad and more flooding to come at the weekend.Mind you we always take our holiday in August and I dont think it is any hotter than June or July.(must be a very cold creature me)xFifi 8) 8)
