Default Ryanair Flights

Travelling from Ireland, we can connect to Stansted, and, Ryanair fly to Bari, Brindisi and Pescara, which is the nearest by car in terms of hours to drive

Hi Chris - really interested in which route you take from Bari or Brindisi as at the moment we are stuck with road or train from Rome and an overnight stay as the plane gets in late. In our part of the UK you can get to Spain faster and easier than to London (people commute!) but Italy ........

Hi Chris

For us we can't get Ryanair as we live in Bristol and its a total nightmare getting to the London airports the coachs don't coincide with the flight times at all so we would end up spending more money on either car travel or coach put together with the flight it would work out more money.
We use either charther direct from bristol to naples or easyjet sceduled flights daily from bristol to rome .
Then after that either transfer with tony or train whichever is best depends on how many of us are traveling.

It will be great for us when easyjet finally decides to add naples to their flights to italy from bristol pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssss.

Yes Spain easier for getting there but its not Italy is it...... no mozzarella no mortadella no cedro!
no napoli !

Hi Cazz - have never been to Spain (last person in UK never to have been?) but don't like the sound of it - also, they probably wouldn't let me in as have written umpteen nasty letters to embassy etc re bullfighting, throwing goats/donkeys off towers etc! Like you we use Bristol but thought the Bari/Brindisi might be worth tgrying - but think you're right - just too much hassle to get to London. Tra. M

From what I have heard Bari/Brindisi has no advantage over Rome. The highway from Rome is pretty good and can be done in 4 hours (3.5 if you have a napoli driver ).

Brindisi is definitely longer, Bari probably takes the same time as from Rome. The good thing about Rome is that you can get cheap flights from almost anywhere.

I might be wrong about this because I haven't tried it myself. If anyone has let us know.

Hello everybody,

I have flown to Rome and Bari and driven to Scalea. Rome to Scalea is far easier as the roads for Bari to Scalea are not nearly as good - at least half of the journey is on single carriage roads and usually through mountains - very beautiful though. We live in Plymouth, so the journey to Stansted etc is even worse.

What charter flights are there from Bristol to Naples?

HI Chris,

We travel from Ireland fairly often. March to October, we fly Aer Lingus direct to Naples from Dublin. After October, Dublin to Rome, (Aer Lingus to da Vinci, or Ryanair to Ciampino) are the best options. Its four to five hours to Scalea, by car or train, but it's better than changing flights at Stanstead.

If you book early, you can get a good deal. Aer Lingus arrives earlier in the day so you have an easier Run from rome to Scalea, and more Rail Options if you want.

Many thanks, I will look into the Aer LIngus direct from Dublin to Naples, it may be the quickest.
We have to fly from Kerry to Dublin to meet that, but we can also fly from Kerry to Stansted for same money

Hi Chris

If you have to fly to Dublin the Stansted option would probably be better as I think the Aer Lingus flight is quite early. And you still have to change flights.
