 New Year's Eve Party
After a very busy and very successful year (one new baby and one fiftieth birthday included!) the Scalea Property Services crew (Tony, Dave & Mel) are back in the UK with their long-suffering,loving families and friends for their English Christmas and New Year. (Our very best wishes and thanks go with them!)
That leaves us (Brian and Lesley) with the lovely task of inviting everyone to the very best New Year's Party ever!
We are incredibly fortunate that amongst the permanent residents now here we have Monica & Derek Baker.
Monica & Derek have bought a house in Santa Domenica Talao and have had a very interesting and incredibly productive few months sorting out furniture and renovations etc.
Listening to their experiences it is obvious that they have very quickly been accepted as an integral part of their village - so it might be interesting to see what the San Domenicans think of the rest of us stranieri in the next few weeks over Christmas and New Year!
Monica & Derek catered professionally in the UK before they moved to Santa Domenica Talao (and every time they come to our house I've only managed to give them sausage rolls....but that's another embarrassing story and nothing to do with the fear of cooking for real, proper chefs at all....oh no...not at all...!!)
Anyway, with the benefit of the hospitality that is being offered to us all by them this year, we are delighted to invite everyone who will be in the area to the Scalea Property Services New Year Eve Party.
The programme of events is as follows (or thereabouts - this is Italy after all..):
9pm + Arrival of guests
9pm - 11.30pm Buffet, drinks etc.
11.30pm To piazza for fireworks and "New Year" festivities
12.30am Return to Derek & Monica's for more bubbly etc.
Food will include Chicken Diavola, Vitello, Pasta Neapolitana, Bruchetta, Pollo and Tacchino Sausages (and other items as available).
There will be a selection of homemade puddings available later.
Cost will be E10 per head and guests are asked to bring a bottle of whatever they drink.
Much more will be available, including bubbly at midnight!
Transport will be arranged via the lovely Sergio, leaving Hotel Continental,Scalea at 8.30pm and returning after the festivities so if anyone wishes to avail themselves of this it will be very helpful if you could let me know asap so we can get that organised and include everyone.
