Default Coffee

:?: Hello All, Would anyone know how to make Coffee the same as in Italy? I bought the little coffee pot that you fill the bottom with water and bring to the boil.It works very well, but not the same.I am using "LaVazza " coffee from Italy .I dont know what I am missing or doing wrong ,but its just not right.. Thanks, Cool.

Hi Cool,
Is what way do you think it's not quite right?
Brian is the refreshments expert in our casa and he says it sounds like you are doing it right.
You need to take care not to let it boil - once it percolates through take it off the heat and pour straightaway.
One difference you may find is that the water is harder/softer than in Italy which will affect the taste.
Best wishes, Lesley (and Brian the Barrista)

Hi - am wondering if you're pressing the coffee down so that it's really compressed. Just a thought. Cheers

Default coffee

Hello Cool,
We bring back to Scotland this coffee;Bar 5 Stelle. It is also marked GUGLIELMO Moka.We were told that this was a good coffee. We buy this in Interspar and find that this is better than we can buy in Scotland. So perhaps you can try this coffee next time you are in Italia.
Have a great Xmas and New Year
Billy and Sheila

Hi Cool - I sent a reply the other day but it doesn't seem to have'arrived'. I meant compressed - i.e. coffee packed in and pressed down so you can't get any more in. Spero che sia di buon gusto!
