What's open at Christmas

It would great to know what bars and restauraunts will be open at Christmas. We intend to be in Scalea from the 22nd December until the 2nd Jan and are hoping we wil be able to eat out on occasion.

My friend and I are going to Scalea on the 10th Jan for a few days. I was reading about Lagonegro and a ski resort nearby. Do you know anything about it or is it open during the week. Its only 50min drive so would be great if the skiing was good even just for a day out. Also there are hot springs in Latronico 15mins away. Do you know about those?

The ski resort near Lagonegro is Mt Sirino (which is obviously in Basilicata) but I believe there are other lifts in the Pollino National Park which I think are just inland from Scalea.
Not sure whether they will be particularly sophisticated but I have a map somewhere and once I dig it out I shall see if I can give some more info.

Busy working on a New Years Party for anyone who will be here - details to follow but it will be a good un!

Everyone is invited but it would be helpful to know who is interested for numbers etc. (and it will help us know how many bottles and how much food to get in!).

A pity we won't be able to make it down for New Year, but it was good to meet up with everyone for the Christmas Dinner. Also thank you Brian and Lesley for ferrying us to both venues!! We will reciprocate next time. ( you notice the royal "we" that means Mark will drive!!)

Unfortunately I came down with some bug and had to spend yesterday in bed. Nothing to do with the meal and gallons of wine consumed I'm sure, just some winter virus.

Apologies this info hasn't arrived yet - still garnering information but it isn't quite complete (too many invitations to lunch that turn into amazing 24 hour excursions- the very best of days out - the spontaneous kind!)
Generally the Spar is open every day apart from Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Most restaurants and bars are very free-flowing but I will endeavor to gather all that info in the next few days.
If I have to call in to each and sample their wares it might take a while tho...

Well, "Tony the wonder boy" usually steps forward to organize the Saturday nights out so, since he will be elsewhere, it might just be a case of us "who are here" arranging something to suit everyone who might be here and be interested ?
I'm just not very good at being organized unfortunately but if I know who is about and if I have their contact details I will make sure they are invited!
Suspect you will miss the big New year Party cos you will be heading home prior?
