Default New Ryanair flights into Lamezia - Pisa & Milan (Bergamo

Ryanair Pisa & Milan to Lamezia from October 2007.

Starting on 28th October Ryanair are flying Pisa to Lamezia 4 times a week.
Ryanair fly into Pisa from Stansted, BA & Easyjet fly into Pisa from Gatwick.

Also from 30th October Milan (Bergamo) to Lamezia 3 times a week.
Ryanair also fly into Milan from Liverpool, Nottingham, Bristol, Stansted, Luton, Newcastle and Glasgow.
Jet2.com fly Leeds to Milan Bergamo.
Air Berlin fly from Stansted to Milan Bergamo.

I know sometimes the thought of two flights seems like a nightmare but a stopover in Pisa or Bergamo might be rather nice?

Best wishes, Lesley

Default NEW ROUTES

Hi Lesley.
Thanks for the information regarding the new Ryanair routes.I've looked up the Ryanair website and think that the Bergamo/Lamezia route is probably the better option for people from Scotland flying from Glasgow Prestwick. The only disadvantage is that it involves an overnight stay in Bergamo both on the outward and return journey. It would make a change from staying overnight at Stansted.I'll have to find some reasonably priced B&B within easy reach of Bergamo Airport.
Sheila and myself should have been in the middle of a holiday in Scalea at the present time but due to family illness we were forced to cancel thus missing the famous Birthday Bash.We hope to manage over perhaps the end October/November and may try the above route.
Regards,Billy and Sheila.

Hi Billy & Sheila,
As the flights are new routes there's some interesting pricing (saw one for 10 cents when I was looking for November dates) so might still be cheaper than Lamezia Stansted all up?
Hope to catch up with you when you get across, Brian is still as daft as a brush you will find
Best wishes, Lesley

Hi, have just viewed Lesleys post re new routes Prestwick/Milan/Lamezia, this looks like an interesting alternative for us Scots. If anyone finds a BB/Hotel near airport be sure to let us know,& we will do same.will be over 24th-30th Oct if anyone is available for coffee/glass of wine it would be good to meet some of you.will be back over Nov/Dec sometime to complete on apartment & hope to try new route then, will pass on any info that would be useful.....Alyson & George

Hi Alyson,
It looks like the Ryanair Prestwick - Milan flight only goes until 28th October 2007?
Not helpful at all if it is stopping just as the Milan - Lamezia flights are introduced
Anyay, here's a link to the Bergamo Turismo site within the Milan (Orio al serio) airport site.
http://sacbo.bergamo-hotels.com/eng/...asp?Lingua=ENG
Once you have put your dates and type of accommodation in you can ask to view the results on a map and then zoom in by clicking on the little red beds.
Picked a random date and found hotels often cheaper than B&B and these two also offer airport transfers on request.

Hope this is helpful to someone, Lesley

Hello Alyson and George,
Too bad you are leaving on 30th to return home. Sheila and myself will be arriving in Scalea late on the on 29th until the 9th November otherwise we could have met up for a coffee or a wine/beer.We are travelling from Edinburgh to Stansted using Easyjet and then Stansted to Lamezia using Ryanair.Because of the change in Ryanair's flight times we can do the outward and return journies without any overnight stays. This involves a much shorter drive than the drive from Rome.We are looking forward to the break very much as we haven't been in Scalea since early June.Hope you enjoy your holiday, Regards Billy.

Default Stopover in Bergamo

The local bus from Orio a Serio(Bergamo-Milan)Airport is only 1 euro into town. bergamo is well worth a visit. The upper town, Bergamo Alto is beautiful.
