Default train scalea to naples

I have searched on all old threads and can find no record of any of this question.

WE are coming to Scalea and landing in Lamezia in September, we are coming with the outlaws (sorry inlaws) and my father in law wants to go to Naples on the train for a few days to see his family who live in the middle of Italy (Campobasso).
Can anyone tell me how long the train journey to naples is and what time in the morning the first train is and how frequent they are to Naples ??

Thanks all :P

Paul,Laura and Raif Campbell.

Default Train

Hiya Paul
We have done the train journey a couple of times as it can take anything for 2 hours to 3 and a half hours. Tickets vary in price according to the journey time - obviously quickest is most expensive.
I think our single journey was 21 euros for 2 on the 3 hourish journey so it means an early start if you want to have a look round the shops before they shut.
The web link for the train is very good it lists all the stops etc.
Cheers
Maisy

We travelled down from Naples earlier this month. It cost 10 euros each and took about 3hrs.

The site I use for booking trains is trenitalia.it as it gives you times and prices and some trips you can book on line which saves a lot of problems when you get to the station.

Hope this helps.
