Scalea Airport - Scalea Info Forums

Hi All,

I noticed on my last trip that Scalea has a small airport, does anybody know if this is operational? Does it just handle private jets and internal flights, or is there talk of it operating Commercial flights?

It'll make getting down there a whole lot easier!

We have spoken to the director at the airport and currently it is only used as a private flying club, as there is no security scanners etc.
It was thought that it may open for domestic flights only, however this is not know if or when it will happen.

It would be great for the area if it did.
