Default Community meetings

Hi all ,
We have an apt here in Scalea and obviously every year have to pay our community fees . Our problem is that no one else in our community speak English so we are unable to partake in community meetings or indeed know what decisions have been made or what future plans are in place . I know that in other countries it is a legal requirement that all decisions /business matters of a community are given in writing to each member in their first language and indeed a translator has to be present should a member wish to be present at these meetings. Is this the case here? We feel quite frustrated as there are animated meetings held here every year and we know there are developments afoot(we were asked to pay legal fees last year) but we don't know what's going on as we receive no communication in writing and our verbal understanding of what's being said is poor. Help

Every property owner should get minutes of the meetings (although I have only ever seen them in Italian, but it is simple enough to translate them).
Do you know who your condo administrator is? And does he have your home address to send you the minutes? Which complex are you in, one of the other forum members may be in the same complex and know a bit more.
Regards, Lesley

Question Community meetings

This is a good point, never had minutes of any meetings in italian or english and have owned an appartment at Parco flora nearly five years, Carmello who is the caretaker doesnt speak english. I learned that they were tarmaccing the communal areas through the lovely Anna Rita at Matoni Casa and that I would have to contribute financially, it wasnt a major problem but it would have been nice to find out in advance so monies could be accounted for.

Ciao to all,

Greetings from a somewhat damp Ireland.

Just to add a bit of data, our Parco Dei Principi, in San Nicola, has a meeting every August. We are never around in August, so have never attended, but we do get minutes (eventually!) - in Italian, and sometimes hand-written so a bit daunting to get through. In fairness, though, the admin keeps us reasonably well informed.

Enjoy the sun, folks.

Just for curiosity, whichever countries provide translations of things like private meetings and says translators should be provided?

I have property in Berlin and all my information comes resolutely in incomprehensible German. Ditto for house management.

Sorry about the delay in replying but have been computerless for a while! We have an apt in Covet which is up the hill near La Bussola .Our administrator is called Arreste . He is lovely but with limited English and we have limited Italian so our communications are frustrationly brief ! Back in damp and dreary Ireland now .

I also live in damp and dreary Ireland and own an apartment in Covit. Any information I have regarding the (expensive) improvements that are afoot was obtained from Billy who contributes regularly to this forum. My sources have told me that Billy is currently on holiday in Covit - he may be able to fill in some of the gaps for us when he returns. His knowledge of Italian enables him to communicate with Oreste!
I am delighted to hear there is another English speaker in Covit!

Regards,
Markel

Hi Kate,
I sent you a p.m. last week regarding the most up to date info. on the situation in Covit, but don't know if you received it. I spoke with both Maria Mingrone and Oreste last week.
Does anyone know if the private mail facility on the forum is currently up and running?

Yes, I believe the PM facility is running just fine.
Most likely your recipient just hasn't looked in for a while.

Hi - am wondering if any of the complexes have residents' groups that keep in touch by email (or pigeon post or smoke signals or whatever) - among themselves I mean not through the management. If there's anyone out there that has an apartment on the VIP Club site would be interested in hearing from you - maybe you could PM me?
