Moving to Scalea

Hello,
I am moving to Scalea in Septemberish and I was wondering about internet and phone. I think this has already been discussed so I am sorry for the redundancy but I have looked up so much information I have forgotten which information is where. What is the best carrier for cell phones in Scalea? Also, does anyone have a USB connection that provides them internet? If so where did you get it and around how much is it? Thank you and I can't wait to join you in Scalea!

We do not have a Italian cell phone as we only visit at the moment, but we do use a USB dongle for our internet, our apartment is in the town near the Spar.
At the moment we have a dongle from Tim network. I bought this in February at the EXPERT electrical shop, and the deal we got was 100hrs usage a month for 12mths for 159euro. We also have a Zoom 4501 3G Wireless N Router which the dongle plugs into, this then means that we can share the dongle signal around the apartment & use a wireless printer etc. This works great for us, we are able to use skype for calls home, and the girls can both use their laptops online at the same time.

I don't know where you are coming from, but I have a USB dongle on 3 Ireland which works well. The advantage of this over the Italian system is that I pay €20 per month for 5 gigs download - for my kind of usage this is much more satisfactory than time-based payment. I have opted for a pre-pay system, as I am only in San Nicola for a couple of months at a time, so a yearly contract would be quite inappropriate.

Re phones, I have a couple of pre-pay mobiles on Wind, which I find serve my purpose admirably. I have never had problems with signal strength, but I have no idea how other networks compare in price or service.
