Lesley, we'd like to do that concert the 19th. I have scoured the Scalea map for the Piazza Gregorio Caloprese -- non posso trovare. Any hints? For someone that's in town at least 5 times a week, I must be blind. I assumed below old town across from bus lot and next to Il Metastasio, but the map does not indicate such a piazza.

location Piazza Gregorio Caloprese
Hi Doug
I think this is the area to the side (spar shop end) of the pedestrian bit of Via Michele Bianchi near the phone shop, ie as you walk down the pedestrian bit towards the Spar, its the area on the other side of the flower beds at the end?
Ps I may be wrong, so do not bet your shirt on this, perhaps someone may know for certain

Thanks John. We have to be there in the morning to buy a SKY TV system, so will look for place-name signs. Could be a neat place to listen to music as long as you grab a table at one of the bars.
Coming down soon? We're having a "dash" of cool, wet weather for a few days. Summer will return and we can follow our lemming colleagues to the sea.

Hi guys, hope you are both well
Hi Doug & Di hope you enjoy the concert, I have just been looking at your photos & reading the comments on your site, after a bit of a rough day at work seeing the pictures has cheered me up, I can not wait till our holiday, sadly its not till the end of August, we plan to drive over again, a trip which I enjoy. As our time is reduced this year due the childrens heavy social engagements, we will drive from uk with 2 overnight stops one at Chambery the other at Castiglione Del Lago
I am sure that quite a lot of us on the forum will be interested in how you get on with Sky Tv, and were you able to get many channels on the Astra Satelite ?
Keep living the dream for us !!
very best wishes
John
Ps hope to get together for a bite to eat & a chat in August

John,
The SKY system won't be installed for a couple days when the techies come out with the decoder and chiavetta. We switched from Astra 1E to Hotbird and are getting a few new free channels we didn't have before. More italian stations on Hotbird, but no CNN International. Euronews is not bad. The Astra is at 19 E and Hotbird at 13 E -- very close for adjustments when your partner is downstairs yelling when the signal improves!! Ya, give a ring in August and we'll visit. You'll like the new one way traffic on Laura and Fiume Lao, it does help (except when someone goes the wrong way)
Great choice of Ristorante---Il Parigino with hosts Enzo and Amelia never disappoints. it also now has an outside area. I returned to Scotland yesterday after 7 glorious weeks in Scalea and went to Il Parigino on several occasions both at lunchtime and in the evening. The food is always good. I just thought I would give this ristorante a mention as, in my opinion, it is one of the best in town and deserves to be supported.
Ciao, Billy.
