The Trenitalia website doesn't seem to be working properly at the moment. I've been trying to book tickets between Scalea and Salerno for the 16th/17th June and the site keeps coming up with --"no solution found". Anything before the 11th June seems to be ok but I can't book anything after that date. Normally it is possible to buy tickets up to 2 months in advance. I can't find an E-Mail address to contact Trenitalia about this.I was hoping to have a short trip to Amalfi round about these dates along with a couple of friends from Scotland and I prefer to book and pay for tickets in advance.I suppose I'll just have to wait and see if the website gets fixed.
Billy.

I've discovered from the Italia Rail website that Trenitalia are only taking bookings up to the 11th June. The summer timetable is usually released in early May so ,until this happens,it is impossible to book tickets/seats from 12th June onwards.

The Trenitalia summer timetable has now been released and it should be possible to book seats 2 months in advance. There are a limited number of MINI fares available which are much cheaper than the normal 1st or 2nd class prices.
Cheers, Billy.

I just replied but my internet went down, so hope this is not a duplicate post.

Claire - do I take it from your thumbs down that you are now affected by this strike? If so, you have my sympathy! I use the trains all the time. I know the strikes are advertised in advance but I really don't know where to look for this. In Italian is fine. Where did you find this out?

Regarding timetables for Trenitalia it changes twice a year - one time around beginning of June (or maybe a week or so either side). You cannot check times or book in advance until the new changes are made. Its a pain -but hardly any changes are ever made so you can just use a few weeks beforehand to check times and prices - but you won't be able to book.
