Hi all, We have friends coming out for a week beginning September any idea what would be a really good itinerary? Last year when we took friends to Diamante I tried to get a brochure for the Murales but there didn't seem to be such a thing They had passed through Praia and Scalea on a tour and had on their list to go back. Good restaurants too please, we have our favourites, but I would like to try something different. Here's hoping for a nice summer for all. BTW does anyone know of any concerts in area at that time? I know everything starts to wind down in September but it is my favourite month

Festa della Madonna del Lauro, Scalea is 7-8 September and the Peperoncino Festival, Diamante folows on from that and lasts 4 or 5 days.

San Nicola Arcella: Festival of the Patron Saint, San Nicola of Tolentino is the 9 - 10 September.

Also in Scalea on,I think,the 2nd/3rd September in the evening there is the Fish Festival held in the Square beside the Church. Last year for 6 Euros you got a tray of various fried fish washed down with some wine.The fish was fried in a gigantic pan. There was a group playing and much dancing by many of the locals and the atmosphere was great---altogether a great experience.
