Default Holiday home insurance Intasure

Hi All

Just had my renewal notice from Intasure and it has increased by approximately 50% from last year's payments.

I am in the process of getting alternative quotes and will telephone them tomorrow to ask for an explanation.

Anyone else had similar experiences yet?

I will keep you informed if I get any quotes that are more satisfactory. (like for like of course.)

John

We renewed in January and it was up about 3 per cent on last year.
That was with Andrew Copeland - Landlord Insurance, Buy To Let Insurance, Car Insurance, Property Insurance, Landlords Building Insurance

We have been with them for 4 years and made a claim quite early (when we were struck by lightning!) which they dealt with very efficiently so I am happy to stick with them.

Have just renewed ours here in Scalea and we paid €194 including legal protection. This was with Aurora Assicurazione. Ours is a 2 bed terraced house.
The guy did offer us a deal to pay for three years in advance - €153 year 1, €153 year 2 and €1 for year 3. So buy 2 get one free.
John, you did not say what your premium was . . . .

We are with Intasure. Our premium went up from 156 to 216 a year in September(38%) for a 2 bed apartment. Rather annoying but I was too busy to shop around at the time. Our policy includes earthquake insurance and I assumed the increase was due to the fairly recent siesmic events. Would be interested to hear any explanation they gave you John.

Regards
Andy

Default Insurance

Hi All

Isn't it funny. I conntacted several sites and one turned out to have intasure as an underwriter. They contacted me the next morning said they wanted to update my details ( no changes from my previous policy) and gave me a new quote with a less than 10% increase on last year's.

Martin Lewis always advises getting quotes changing providers, even banks, regularly because new customers always get better deals.

Ciao

John

Angry Home Insurance

HI John

Just had ours through, we are with Intasure, but theirs have increased by 49%. Had another quote from Copeland's, they want even more. Who have you gone with?

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve and Heather

Give them a ring they will say they have lost your particulars (computer switchover. yeh!) but then will give you a quote with only approx 10% increase.

Wink Holiday Home Insurance

Hi john

Tried what you suggested, I got a slight reduction from a 47% incease originally quoted to a 39% increase, they will decrease it further if I increase my excess.

Problem is I've tried afew others and they are even more. So I either got a very good deal last time and they've caught up with me, or I don't possess your "Welsh Charm"

Ciao
Steve
