I am coming to Italy on Monday. Would like to know what the weather is like there. Is it tee-shirt & shorts or Jeans & jumper weather. At the minute in Belfast it is gale force winds and rain. Can't wait to get out of here.
It is lovely here today (sunny and 18 degrees just now at 10am) but it has been variable lately and we have had some wind and rain too.
I will take a photo from our balcony and show you!
Lesley
Thanks, Michael.
Yes it is a great view and the reason we use the smaller front-facing bedroom as we can see the view from bed as soon as we wake up - and if it isn't sunny we can turn over for another hour or so.
It is not as clear today but we have 21.5 degrees at 2pm - off now to the beach with Denis the dog.
Lesley
Lesley, you are making us so jealous. Windy dark and pouring rain here. Just wish the views, weather and all of it could be bottled. We could just have a little dose every now and then to cheer ourselves up !
Only one thing for it.......................... off to the local for a pint of creamy Guinness or two.

Mrs T,
The last I heard, the gentleman that owned that camera had shut it down and moved away. I used to have a link to the Praia a Mare camera on my office computer.... alas, I have no office now. You should find that via a Google webcam search. It's that time of year when you can have 2-3 glorious days, then get clobbered with 4-5 of storms. We're still suffering with internet coverage from last week's lightning. I have to take the laptop outside to get a signal from Scalea towers. Hopefully, people are complaining to TIM about the variable signals. Our village does not have broadband, so we must rely on the wireless dongles (that you folks call them). Ciao

November Weather
Mrs T,
November weather is variable this year. Last week we had 3 nasty rainy days and during one of the squalls, I recorded 8.5mm of rain in just 10 minutes. One of the most amazing downpours of my life!
Then there are days like today and yesterday where life is good in a short sleeved shirt. Photo is Sunday lunch at Sabbia d'Oro in Diamante sud. Cheers
Wow, thanks so much to Doug and John (and anyone else I've forgotten to mention) for all the fabulous links to webcams, information, weather updates and photos! Brilliant!

Weather update
It is actually SNOWING in Scalea !!!! Not much just light flurries at the moment. Temperature is just 6 degrees. The wind is icily cold. Hope this makes everyone in the UK feel just a little bit better
Yes, we have had snow in Belvedere this afternoon too and it got down to 3.4 degrees outside.
Forecast is for more snow on Friday morning.
I think it was coming down thick in Santa Domenica earlier, maybe Doug could let us know what it is like there?

Weather update
Took a drive a little higher up this afternoon and the snow was settling on the fields.
Just a note to say we have not made contact with anyone on this trip as we have my 87 year old mother here and life is somewhat restricted! Be happy to catch up with anyone next time round.

Hi All,
Yes we had a good little dump Wed night with 10cm that closed that hill into the village for awhile and I actually shoveled snow Thursday for my neighbors. Didn't expect that in Calabria!! About 5cm this morning that melted fast.
The coldest we've had this week was -1C. Looks like Europe is to be hammered for the next week or so, but we may miss most of it and the temps should rise.
