Ryanair summer 2011

Hi,
I keep looking at the Ryanair website to book flights for next summer from East Midlands to Rome, currently they are not available. I have checked other destinations eg Faro and they are available but all Italian flights are not.
I had booked my flights by this time last year.

Does anybody know if Ryanair are flying to Italy next year or have they fallen out with all the airports like they have with Lamezia?

Any info appreciated, thanks.

Hi Lucy

I don't know what the story is with Ryanair, they are flying Milan Bergamo to Lamezia at the moment but there are no flights showing up for next spring . I think they are not taking bookings to any destinations in Italy yet for next year. as last year we booked at this time and when the time came to fly all the flight times etc had been changed! .
There are Easyjet flights from London Stansted to Naples for next year which seem quite reasonable at the moment but this is probably not much good to you.

Will try and find out story and let you know if I have any luck

Hi Lucy I have at last got through to a Ryanair reservations person and she tells me that the East Midlands to Rome route will be available next year but you have to wait until end of November before the flights will be up on line. (I was told something similar about the Standsted Lamezia flights last year and it never happened so I suppose we will have to wait and see)

Having given up on Ryanair long ago we have been using Easyjet from Stansted to Naples. However, we hate the drive to and from Naples and have now booked our next four trips (up until July 2011) with Easyjet flying from Luton to Milan (Malpensa) and then on from Milan to Lamezia. It costs about £10 more per head than flying to Naples so with using less petrol from the airport to Scalea (and for us Luton is easier than Stansted) it works out about the same price. Will be doing this for the first time in December so will report on it then.

Thanks very much for your replies. We have been from Stanstead to Naples a few times but we are not keen on the drive to Stanstead!

I would be interested to hear your report travelling from Luton, I am not sure if I would want to do 2 flights with the kids in tow but it is another option.
Maybe Ryanair will come good!

Very expensive. I may also try for the Luton/Milan/Lamezia route as my nerves don't suffer the drive well either.
