Ryanair/Shopper Discounts

Hi everyone

We don't know if there is anyone else out there who has fallen victim to recently pressing the voucher button to get £15 back on the Ryanair site (we booked flights at the beginning of August and the voucher reclaim button was there then but looking today it seems to have gone!) Anyway if you pressed the button (like us) then the chances are you will have received a cheque for £15 (we have). So what's the problem? Check your bank statement carefully as we have since been charged a monthly £10 fee for "membership" on our switch card (even though we gave Shopper Discounts and Rewards no card details). It looks like Ryanair have passed on our payment method to Shopper Discounts without our permission. We are about to contact Shopper Discounts to try and get a refund and will let you know what happens. We guess the old saying that "if it looks to good to be true, then it probably is" is about right on this one. We have since found 46 pages of complaints about Shoppers Discounts on Money Expert so we are not alone!.

Hi Kevin and Jayne

I had a similar experience last year and I think I started a post on the subject. Like you I had an immediate response from Shopper Discounts. (they must put out regular searches to look for any mention of their name in different forums) I do have to say that my difficulties were resolved quickly and satisfactorily by shopper discounts with all money refunded. But it is a cautionary tale. I don't think that Ryanair are being entirely honest with this type of offer and certainly should never pass on one's details to a third party. As you said by referring to Money expert you can discover that there are lots of people that have been caught out by this.
