Default Ryanair Timetable Changes

Hi all,
In case you are thinking of making plans to visit soon I have just noticed Ryanair Stansted to Lamezia is reverting back to early morning flight times from 26th March.

Hi Lesley,
Thanks for that information. We are travelling over in June and I just checked our flights with the Ryanair website and you're right - the flights have, indeed, changed to early morning. Ours are now 06:10 from Stansted, arriving in Lamezia at 10.05 and departing from Lamezia at 10.30, arriving in Stansted at 12:45. Actually, this suits us better but I'm hoping they don't change again. The website says that they try to inform customers by email, although I haven't had one yet, but they do advise customers to check their booking online and reconfirm it prior to departure.
Here is the link to the Ryanair page:
http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs....chedulechanges
Hope this helps. Will be pleased to hear from anyone else re: any Ryanair changes.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Frances.

Hi, Leslie, just seen your notice, too late . . . we have just booked to come over on 28th MARCH with BMI Heathrow to Naples, Didnt like the Ryanair new timetable. Obviously their 'old' one now!! Still it is still very good for us with BMI as they go from Heathrow and flight is free, only have to pay taxes!! See you soon, Roy and Mary

In addition to the above Ryanair now seem to be reverting to 3/4 flights a week, at least from July to October. A good site showing all flights at a glance, Ryanair and others (what others?) is:

Default Ryanair Flight Changes

Hi PatMc,
Thanks for that information - it's a great website and I've put it in my favourites . It actually provides live information about any given flights, which is very helpful. Everything seems OK for our flights at the moment but, with the current climate re: air travel, it pays to have access to up-to-the-minute flight info. When we first booked, there were several different flight time options and we just went for the cheapest but the current flight times we've been allocated are much more acceptable - I just hope they don't change again! We also booked our hire car through Ryanair and it was an even more reasonable price than the one we booked before through Holiday Autos (flew with Thomsons last time). I guess the flight schedule change will automatically be taken on board by Hertz at the other end, since they have the details of the flight, but I'll have to check that out to make sure.
In the meantime, if anyone has any further helpful information to add re: Ryanair flights, that would be great.
Thanks again.
Best regards,
Frances.

Hi Frances,

With regards to car hire, check out the site www.economycarhire.com - they are very cheap and they include insurance excess cover as well as an extra driver all in the price of the rental.

Unfortunately though, the car hire office opening hours do not suit the Ryanair timetable at the moment but this will change in March to suit the the revised flights and times.

Hope this helps,
Regards, Jacqui and Ray.

Default Re: Car Hire

Hi Jacqui & Ray,
Thank you for that information re: car hire. The Economy Car Hire quote compares very well with the one we got from Holiday Autos last year and it does take away a lot of the hassle with the "hidden extras". I think we'll probably stick with the one we booked via Ryanair now (i.e. Hertz) because it really is cheap and covers CDW, theft and the basic things. You had to book the car at the time of booking the flights to get it at the best price. We don't really need the extra driver option as we are going to be staying with relatives, who like us to ride with them a lot of the time and the car gets locked in a compound overnight, which gives us a bit more security. Still, it's worth bearing in mind for a future time.
That said, I'm hoping they'll adjust the time we've booked the car to the changed flight times - might need to look into that to make sure.
Any news on the Ryanair front is always welcome and I will post, too, if I hear anything I think might be useful to potential travellers.
Thanks again and all the best,

Default Re: Ryanair Flight Timetable & Car Hire

Hi all,
Just to say that, further to the foregoing info. re: the Ryanair Timetable changes, we have literally only just received the email from Ryanair notifying us of the change to our flight times which were made back in January, so it really does pay to keep a regular check on the Ryanair site yourself, just in case you get a nasty shock nearer to the time you are due to travel. I suppose this always makes sense, anyway. We are due to travel in just over a month, which may be why they have left it until now to inform us.
Additionally, when checking our car hire check-in times, I realised that these had not been updated to coincide with the new flight times but, when I tried to modify them online, the site wouldn't let me do it and, when I 'phoned the car hire line the chap on the other end said it was good thing that I had done so and changed it for me, so I'm glad about that. Now it shows up correctly on our booking confirmation on the site.
Also, there is quite a bit of excess to pay on the car we have hired through Ryanair (only a small, basic model) and it seems that we will be given to option to upgrade when we arrive at Lamezia Terme airport but it will cost us nearly as much again to get rid of it. So, be warned if you would rather book through a different company (Ryanair gets a special rate from Hertz) - it will suit us to leave things as they are at the moment as we won't need to use the car all the time but you may feel it's worth paying a more competitive rate for fully comp. Try some of the other companies, including the ones mentioned on this forum, before you commit. We were happy with the deal we got from Holidayautos last year.
Will post again if I come across any more info. I think may be useful to other travellers.
Buona giornata,
Frances.
