Return Train from scalea to Naples

I was hoping someone could help on this query?
Has anyone returned by train catching the 2pm Easyjet flight to Liverpool?
We are not sure which train to catch, there is a train departing at 9.35am arriving at 12.18 if on time? or there is an earlier one at 06.43am which gets in to Naples at 09.58am which means hanging around for 3-4 hrs, Our concern is, is there enough time catching the 09.35am arriving 12.18 to catch our 2pm flight?
We are also checking in a piece of luggage.

Funny im debating the same thing, think even with a taxi from the station it will be cutting it fine so going for the earlier option

I would advise the earlier train.

Also I think that at Naples Station they probably have a left luggage room, open from 07.00-23.00

For a smallish fee you can leave your bags, we have done this at Rome before, but never at Naples, it means you can do a bit of sight seeing and have lunch, before picking up your bag again and taking the bus to the airport.

Yes there is a left luggage office in Naples station. We used it last month and it cost about 4 euros, if I remember correctly.

Hmmmm ... I would advise giving yourself lots of time. I waited from 9.15am this morning for a 9.36 intercity to Rome (I was stopping off at Napoli to go to the Airport) and first announcement came with a 25 minute wait; that grew to a 45 minute wait; eventually it arrived at 11am ... so if I was rushing to catch an early flight it would have been even more stressful than it was! Also interesting to note that the Scalea station outdoors doesn't have seating and you don't see them sit on the platform (which I did and continue to read my book).

Also if your train is more than an hour late you can get some kind of compensation ... when I went to enquire in Napoli (hoping I would get a voucher for a future journey) I was more than amused to find out that I had actually booked for a ticket for tomorrow (8th) and luckily the young lad on the train checking didn't notice. So it almost backfired.

I always say everything is meant to happen for a reason and felt fortunate as the train conductors can be quite sticky about things like wrong dates and not having tickets etc.

Anyway I finally made it back to Stansted after an Easy Jet delay as well ... just one of those days ...
