Default Scalea Camping sites

Hi

Does anyone know anything about the local camping sites, facilities etc. My sister and her husband have a trailer tent and are looking for somewhere with good facilities as they are not in the first flush of youth! They were thinking of coming down this way in the summer, any suggestions?

Hi June,

I won't volunteer to hit every campsite along the coast but could stop at a couple if I knew the needs. Electric hookup? Water hookup or just potable water nearby? Showers wanted I assume. How far south of Scalea are they willing to go? I/we can check a few places between Scalea and Marcellina, but not many things appear open now. It's great camping weather now! Oh -- any particular dates?

Hi Doug

Thanks so much for the offer you are very good but dont go to any trouble it was only if someone had experience of the ones in Scalea that they could recommend. They would need decent clean showers and electricity hook up. I think it might be around July that they plan to travel. This couple are in their early 70's so even though they camp all over the continent and love it they like a little of the comforts of a good camp site.

Regards,
June

Claire - that is a great link.

The camping site Pantarosa (?) has tariffs for 2008 though. Wonder if they are still going? Strange....

...however one thing puzzled me. The above site said one of the biggest supermarkets in Scalea was 50 metres from them. Their address said they were here: C.so Mediterraneo, 87029 Scalea centro. What supermarket are they referring to and in which street? Anyone know?
