Hello all

I hope you are all ok and enjoying Scalea? We still have a considerable amount of snagging on our property therefore loathed to pay our next community charge until it is rectified. Have you all paid your charge for 2009 - 10 if yes please could you let us know how much?

Are you talking about condominium fees or ICI (IMPOSTA COMUNALE IMMOBILI) which is paid to the Comune ?

Both I suppose. We.ve not been out since August but I suspect there will be a few bills on the floor when we get there this February.

How much can we expect to pay for our ICI?

The amount you need to pay for your ICI depends on the RC (rendita catastale) value of your property (you will find that figure in your deeds).

We have never been sent a bill for ICI (although some folk have told me that they have been billed which I find surprising).

ICI has been abolished for residents for their main home but non-residents and second home/holiday home owners are liable for the payment.

Generally it is a payment that you are expected to make by doing the calculation yourself and then making the payment at the Post Office or the comune office.
