Default Buses in Scalea

Can anyone tell me about the Scalea bus services? Is it possible to find timetables on the internet? I'm hoping to be in Scalea in May and won't have a hire car for the first time. I would like to visit San Nicola, Diamante, etc. by bus for a change.

Thanks,

Lynn

This was done before here and at that time it looked like all the buses to the outlying places were geared to bringing students in and people in to work, not to taking people out to them so if it was possible at all you ended up with really odd hours. Have just looked at the Preite site again and it doesn't look that much different. Anyone done any trips like that? Would really like to use the buses so would be interested.

Default Re Buses in and around Scalea

If there are no buses perhaps there is a train service from Scalea which runs at more sensible hours. Just a thought
Cheers

Default Buses in and around Scalea

Have done a couple of trips by bus to Paola and Cosenza. As you say timings are not great - usually one bus every couple of hours. Cosenza was fine as the bus station is in the centre but if you get the bus to Paola it drops you on the SS18 before heading off to Cosenza and it is a very long walk into Paola itself - and an even longer one back up the hill!! There were some local buses in Paola but have no information on these. The station in Paola is reasonably central so would recommend the train. We have also travelled to Cosenza by train and then got a bus into the Sila but the railway station is a long way from Cosenza centre.
Look forward to any further information as we too want to try time in Scalea without a car.
