Happy Christmas to you all on the forum and have a great new year. very warm in Scalea today. [ like spring time ] Just read on google news that Ryanair will not be allowed to fly to Italy from the 23rd Jan on wards, some thing to do with regulations, that he will not accept . It concerns 10 airports in Italy .Well easyjet are going to have many more customers next year ,lets hope some one decides to fly to Lamezia as it is a long way from Naples to Scalea. Just like to add my voice to the general chorus of good wishes for Christmas, and to express my unbridled envy at reading about the warm weather in the region! We in Ireland are at about minus 5 to 10 degrees and our neighbours across the Anglo-Irish Sea (How's that for diplomacy??!!) are suffering even more.

Re Ryanair, understand that it is only those internal flights operated by the airline which are under threat - the international ones require passports anyway - and that is the kernal of the dispute.

Morning everyone

0800 hrs and I have just pick one of our grandsons and on the return journey I was breathalised. About 4 or 5 policemen pulling cars in and testing a new device. They must have been frozen but were in good spirits. I had to smile at the question " have you had a drink in the last twenty minutes. ( what, with my morning coffee I would need to be a hardened drinker or serious party goer). Last year I was stopped and breathalised whilst going to a new years eve party. I suppose it is better than being mowed down by some inebriated idiot.

An amazing vantage point for the fireworks - you would have thought there was a firework competition going on and it was difficult to know just where to look.
