Those Ads always say "from" in tiny little letters and always show a very swish car in the advert as well, it is only marketing to drag you in.

try Car trawler.co.uk, I normally use Auto europe.co.uk but for seem reason are very expensive this month so hunted around and these came out pretty cheap. (not £9 a day though) the problem with Italian car hire is that the insurance is so expensive and they actually expect the car to come back with some sort of damage..
