What we have seen of Belvedere so far has been very nice. We are hoping to do a bit more scouting around next visit.
We took a trip to Centro Storico one day during siesta time and there is a lovely little square just a little higher than the Castello Rugere where we had a little drinkie. We only saw a couple of blokes and a dog that day and it was real sleepyville - absolutely amazing.
We took David & Mel on our next visit and it was earlier in the day and I couldn't believe it was the same place - loads of folk and activity.
Nice spot for a gelato and to wile away an hour in any case.
The marina/beach is also quite pretty - noticed the last time that there was a pesceria (is that how you spell it?) and we will be popping in to buy some fresh sea bass if possible.
Have you eaten at Il Corsaro in Scalea?
Brian had sea bass every time we ate there and it was tremendous.
Whereabouts is your place?
Getting excited now as it's not long until we set off - woohoo!

Really good to hear from you glad you are having such a lovely time in Italy. I gather you are no doubt in Belvedere as I write this you should have 2 days left now hope you had a really fab time guys.
Our dates have changed and we are arriving in Scalea now on 22 settembre.
Belvedere sounds very lovely we only went there to do our codice fiscale so we did not see anything whatsoever of it.
We are going to visit next time yes. No we did not eat in Corsario we did cook a lot in our apartment but we did go to a small place that Tony had recomended we go to which was called Planet which is a little street off of il corso mediterannio it was plain and simple but very nice indeed.
We ate up in the old town which although was more on the expensive side the service was very good and the food was excellent.
We ate out in Napoli while we were there , we always stay a night or two at the beginning of our holiday and at the end as we have a strong love for Napoli. Eating out there is really wonderful and the people are again very friendly.
If you do decided to ever visit Napoli just go careful with your bags and jewlery and dont' buy off of Ragamuffins that offer you camera's and stuff just be aware of this but the local markets are so cheap and worth a visit . The city is very beautiful and is well worth a proper site see especially if you go up to Vomero and see a view of the whole city with the Spaccanapoli in view.
When are you guys coming out again then? We are imagining now that we may come over for xmas. Would be nice.
I have just got myself a sim italian card so if we do meet up we shall exchange details before going over so I shall be able to call you first .
Our apartment is one of the Vip apartments in Campo Volo we have one of the ground floor apartments with a garden . We are waiting until they finish the swimming pool now for next year.
