Thanks Lesley. I confess that this type of event is not our cup of tea, but that brochure link is FABULOUS. What a great collection of commercial sponsors complete with addresses, phone numbers and info on their businesses. I sure saved the link for future reference.

Is all the stuff at the event involving women typical in European sports events, or is it just Italian to splash photos of nearly bare young women and opportunities to have your picture taken with some "babe" a local thing? Just curious. There would be public outrage if you put out advertisements like that here! Must be some puritan blood left in my liberal veins......

Scantily clad attractive ladies are well used over here.
We watch the quiz programme L'eridita most evenings and there are 4 dancing girls that are almost bursting out of their clothes.
I remember when I was small the Motor Show in London had girls in bikinis draped over new cars but that has been frowned on in the UK for quite some time.

Doug and Di - an Italian FEMALE has just been chosen to go on the European space programme so maybe there's hope that they can be seen as more than boobs and bums! There are females in the parliament of course but there's a bit of discussion as to exactly why they're there.
Lesley - we watch L'eridita sometimes and wonder if you'd agree that the scantily-clad ones aren't beginning to seem a bit anachronistic. Also d'you think Carlo Conti seems a bit sheepish when they come on? I get that impression but it could be wishful thinking! Do you watch Forum? I think it's really good but an Italian looked down his nose when I said I watched it. Do any of your friends watch it and what do they think?
