Lamezia to Scalea

Hello fellow Calabria lovers,

I have flown to Lamezia several times and always hired a car from Lamezia. However this is only because I have never explored the possibility of alternative transport from Lamezia to Scalea. I am visiting Scalea again at the beginning of June for a few days, and was wondering if anybody had any advice about transport from Lamezia to Scalea and back.

Get a taxi or the bus to the train station and a train to Scalea. It's cheap and doesn't take as long as driving if the schedule fits. Check that on the Trenitalia site.

I have also travelled by bus from Lamezia airport to Cosenza then another bus to Scalea.

I think bus leaves airport about 11.00am then connection from Cosenza leaves about 12.15 getting into Scalea about 1.45pm :-)

The train has always appealed to us as the most comfortable. The basic fare is Euro 11, and the standard taxi fare from Lam-T Centrale is Euro 10 - even though it's a very short journey.

What is the public bus connection between the railway station and the airport like?
