accommodation rome ciampino airport

Hi,

We are looking for cheap and cheerful accommodation for 1 night as we have a morning flight with Ryanair from Ciampino airport. We will need 2 rooms for 4 adults and 2 children. Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Hi Lucy,

Hotel Palacavicchi is very close to the airport. We have stayed there on a couple of different occasions and found them reasonably priced, with clean accommodation, and a reasonable breakfast. They also have very friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk who speak good English.
They have their own shuttle bus to and from the airport - but I don't know if the service is 24-hour. We just phoned them from the airport when we arrived on a late flight, and they sent the bus to collect us. We returned to the airport next morning by bus to collect our hired car.
If you google them they come up on a number of hotel booking websites. I think we used " www.laterooms.com"

We always use a Villa Giulia Hotel in Ciampino thay have secure parking and it is a small clean hotel . They have a little twin room which is cheap and cheerful about 65Euro. Email villagiuliahotel@virgilio.it. Booking.com is a good site to use or easytobook.com

Hi,
Just arrived back yesterday after 2 enjoyable weeks in Scalea. The weather was a wee bit mixed but mainly warm. I have used the Palacavicchi Hotel near Ciampino several times in the past but this time I used the Excel Hotel booked through hotelsclick.com. For a triple room it proved to be approximately 40 euros cheaper than the Palacavicchi per night. The Excel is a good hotel and the way by car to Ciampino Airport from there is very simple and takes between 5 and 10 minutes. There is a dining room downstairs and the buffet breakfast is excellent. I will be using the Excel again in June and would recommend it to anyone.

Hello Alyson and George,
The Excel Hotel is on Via Appia Nuova which is the same road as Ciampino Airport. If travelling from the South follow the Ciampino Airport signs and instead of turning into the airport just continue on for a couple of miles or so in the slow lane and the Excel sign is on the right. I've booked this Hotel again for June and for a triple room is costing £62 if booked through hotelsclick.com.

Thanks a lot for your reply and info re hotel, we have booked for 1 night in June £51 for double room, very reasonable and about £30 cheaper than Palacavicchi,every little helps as they say, hope to meet sometime........cheers George

Thanks for the replies. I have just booked us in at the Excel for the end of may, the hotel does appear to be very reasonably priced. We decided that getting up at 0300 and driving to Rome would not be ideal, the price of the Excel swayed us!

thanks billy... just returned from scalea and stayed at the excel hotel in ciampino... triple room was approx £40.00 including breakfast...rooms are modern, clean and spacious ...will definately use again

Hello Maria,
Glad the hotel worked out ok for you.I will be using the Excel again in September. I haven't booked it yet. If booked at the present time for September a double room costs approx. £56 but if I wait until 3 to 4 weeks before the date I want to stay and then book, the price for a double room will probably drop to around £36 per night. I may book for 2 nights if this happens and spend a day in Rome on the return journey.
