Just looking for some advice on the easiest way to get from Bari to Scalea on public transport.
I checked out train options but it seems to take minimum of about 7 hours with several changes.
I had a look at the bus options on the forum's "Transportation" thread - Autoservizi Preite.
There is nothing direct so I guess you would have to change somewhere or maybe more than once. I'm just wondering which would be the most simple route.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Italy Bus ([url]http://ro.autobus.it/IBUS) run three buses a day from Bari to Cosenza (Bari to Tarsia stopping at Cosenza) . It’s a 4 hour journey. First bus 6.17 arrive 10.00am. Second Bus 1.30pm arrive 5.30pm. Last bus 7.16pm arrive 11.20pm. From Coasnza you can catch the Number 7 Cosenza- Praia a Mare bus to Scalea, which takes 90 minutes.
Realistically though, you could only take the 1.30pm bus from Bari which arrives in Cosenza at 5.30pm, just in time to miss the 5.20pm bus to Praia a Mare, but there is another at 6pm. These times are current. You would need to check for the day of travel.
