Default Italian living is a Change for the Better -- Right?

Hi,
I got back into this and deleted as my attempt at "something" was getting too whiny. If Lesley spots this perhaps she can delete the thread as I don't know how.

Thanks Andy for your comment. I didn't know the conversion of kilowatts to amps. So the 3Kw Italian service is equal to 12 amps? Is that the same in either 110 or 220 volts do you know?

Cheers,

Default The Rubbish

The rubbish collection or not! and the dumping of rubbish is certainly an eye opener and such a off putting sight for visitors to the town!

I believe that the maximum you can upgrade a domestic electricity supply to is 6Kw at a cost of approx. 400-500 euros. However whether a complex with a common supply would have this capability I wouldn't know. When you consider that a typical domestic supply in England is between 15Kw (63Amps) and 25Kw (100Amps) you realise just how little you can actually have on all at once in Italy. We can usually get away with our water heater and a small convector heater on at the same time although we do sometimes get messages from ENEL flashing up on the meter. At least our trip is in our apartment. I don't think I would fancy a trek everytime the supply is exceeded.
