Our excursions

Excursion 1 - Weekend Jeep adventure

Come with us in the splendid scenery of the Pollino national park just a few km's from Scalea and the Cedro Riviera for a weekend rich of natural emotion. Depearting from the Cedro Riviera, in our offroad vehicles we drive on the beach in Scalea for several km's then we will start the climb up into the Appenine Mountains. Immersed in the natural beauty of our national park we will see the famous giant pine trees from the ice age, rare animals such as Eagle's and Falcon's and many others. There will be valleys to cross, summits to climb with amazing panoramic views, then stunning desents. Then we will finish with Rafting on the river Lao which is considered one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe. All this will be accommpanied by stops at the best Agriturisimo's in the area to savour authentic Calabrian food.

Program:

Friday (for who is arriving from abroad...) - Arrive and stay in the Hotel

Saturday:
09.00 - Meet in Piazza Aldo Moro in Scalea then breifing
09.30 - Depart
14.00 - Arrive in Agriturismo and lunch
???? - Depart time depends on finish time of lunch (we don't rush lunch!)
18.30 - Arrive in agriturismo for Dinner and rest
22.30 - Night excursion to see the stars from the summit of the pollino mountain

Sunday:
08.30 - Depart
09.00 - Guided tour of the cave of Romito (from patholic age)
10.00 - Rafting on the lao river
13.00 - Lunch in traditional restaurant
16.00 - Return to Scalea and say goodbye!

The price is €180 per person and includes:
Stay in hotel with breakfast. *Stay in hotel talao in Scalea 3 star with heating, TV, sea view and parking.
Lunch in Agriturisimo saturday morning
Evening meal and stay in Agriturisimo on saturday night, breakfast on Sunday morning
Guided tour around the Romito cave
Raftng with all equipment supplied
Traditional lunch on Sunday in the restaurant



Excursion 2 - Morning and/or Afternoon adventure

Come with us in the Splendid scenery of the Pollino National Park, with our offroad vehicles with immerse you totally in the rich nature and wonderful scenery. We will see the Pino Loricato (giant pine tree from the ice age), also the mouth of the river Lao, from waterfalls of the Argentine River, to the summit of the Cozzo del Pellegrino and many other unimaginable things that our nature can offer.

Morning Program:

Excursion in the heart of the national park where the nature is the king. Valleys to cross, panoramic summits climb and many species of animals to observe. In addition you will be able to observe closely the magnificent and majestic Loricato Pine.

Duration: 4 - 5 Hours
Difficulty: Medium with many technical crossings
Start at 08.30 and scheduled return for 13.00

Afternoon Program:

We travel alongside the River Lao until the nature reserve of the River Argentino. Walking along the paths of the reservoir we will visit the wonderful botanical garden and we will see splendid cascades of the river, then we will visit the characteristic centro storico of Orsomarso.

Duration: 2 - 3 Hours
Difficulty: Easy
Depart at 15.00 and return around 17.30

Price: €35

It is advised to bring comfortable shoes, and also a warm jacket and hat.
