good guess! If your claimed level is basic for real, you worked it all out much better than you might think.
So, using the imperfect tense puts the gerundive, or progressive (in English), form into the past: I was waiting for you. And, of course, you're correct again with the plural, since you were waiting for more than one user to start the thread.

Neglected to remind you that, of course, stare (as in stavo) literally means to stay but is used in place of essere especially when associated with the gerundive.
